Mogoro Fugwa, Papua New Guinea

You have heard of the “Great Commission” to go to Jerusalem, Judea, and to the ends of the earth. Well if you stuck a pin in the opposite side of the globe you would be pretty close to Mogoro Fugwa, Papua New Guinea, our “ends of the earth”.

Papua New Guinea, PNG, has over 820 languages, over 12% of the worlds languages. and a long history of intertribal warfare that persists to date. However the local Christian community in Mogoro Fugwa are determined to be agents of change in the face of this violence.

To this end, the community sent a health officer to be certified in CHE at one of our TOT1 training sessions in the States. We became fast friends and so joined this community champion later that year to start a CHE training certification program in Mogoro Fugua. Upon our anrrival we were given an incredible welcoming. We were so impressed at the efforts they were taking to partner with other communities. They had invited the Bougainville church leaders to join in the training and to stay to help build a new OB ward while learning new building techniques. Over 2 dozen community leaders attended the 30 hour week long training session and received their certification. Even as we were still there they were planning their future meetings, projects and health initiatives. They also secured our promise to come back to start a new CHE program in Bougainville, which we hope to accomplish in 2026. Please be in prayer for this next ministry opportunity.
